Poetry 101

The meaning
of a poem
should be

untroubled
water—

clear as a
Tucson morning sky,

not just a string

of pretty words
tiptoeing
through the fog,

a Rosetta Stone
needing to be
deciphered,

or a tax form
to be pondered.

I have
no time left

for translation.
